Can you believe that 2023 is already upon us? As we wrap up 2022, we’re proud of Victoria Lily Events and the success of 2022. We thought we’d take a moment to share a selection of our hires during the year to inspire you for your next event!
Our bell tent hires have been to East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Kent and further afield. We’ve set up luxury bell tents for weddings, festivals, parties, hen parties and even corporate events – It’s been a full-on year but exciting none-the-less!
We started 2022 with 72 amazing weddings, hen parties, birthday parties, school events and family gatherings, and ended with 91 events!
Family gatherings in the garden
One of our early bell tent hires was set up for a wonderful family in their back garden! They chose a perfect weekend where the sun was shining on the Sunshine Coast. We kitted their bell tent with relaxed neutral vibes, added our famous bunting and left them to enjoy the bell tent for the weekend. It’s such a wonderful feeling knowing you’re helping families make memories!
Summertime
Summer was a crazy period for us as we juggled 50-70 bell tents between May and July alone..whilst negotiating with our little diva! We also attended the Luxe Boho Wedding Fair in Crawley Down which was a brilliant opportunity for us to meet happy couples planning their big day.
Going above and beyond for our clients
In amongst the incredible chaos of Summer, we received a call to say a couple were let down for their wedding bell tents a few days before their wedding, there was no way that we were going to let this opportunity pass (could you imagine the stress the couple were under to find another supplier?) So we hopped in the van and drove an 11 hour round trip to Blackpool to pitch 34 guest tents and a honey moon suite. The newly weds were delighted to say the least, a proud moment for the Victoria Lily team!
WOW WOW WOW!
September saw us pitch 26 sleeping bell tents and our 7m chill out tent around a fire pit for M + M’s wedding bash at the Two Woods Estate in Sussex. We even received an incredible review following their set up “WOW WOW WOW!! It’s stunning! We are blown away. You worked some magic here! Glamping – or glamorous camping – is no doubt one of the best ways to spend a weekend with your best pals. If you’ve got a date in the diary for a glamping hen do, you are probably wondering what to pack? We’ve put together this handy blog with everything you’ll need to consider when headed of for your first bell tent hen do.
The essentials
We have got most of the essentials covered, such as bedding and other soft furnishings. Depending on the type of hen do and the size of the bell tent you’re hiring, there are other essentials you’re going to need, but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
Kitchen must haves
If you plan to cook, it’s important to remember to bring a stove and pans, cups, cutlery and plates. You’ll also want to bring a teapot to enjoy a hot cuppa in nature when dawn breaks – there really is nothing quite like it.
You’ll need to pack cleaning supplies too – from washing up liquid to sponges and towels, so you can your cooking bits ready to use again. We also recommend bringing a dustpan and brush for any crumbs or spillages that may get on your nerves.
Bedroom bits
Although we provide the most comfortable of beds for you to doze in, some people do prefer the comfort of their own pillow, so you are welcome to bring your own. But one thing you most definitely will need are your pjs – you might also want to bring some cosy socks or slippers to keep your toes warm, although the heating is there should you need it.
Bathroom accessories
No matter what type of hen do you’re planning, your bathroom essentials are going to be required. You will want to bring your toothbrush, toothpaste, soap and a small mirror. While we do provide some basics, you will need to supply most of your own, so keep this in mind when packing your bags.
Other bits and bobs
Your phone charger is probably considered an essential. Plus, depending on the time of year, swimwear, suncream and mosquito repellent is too! Remember your medication and other personal items such as creams, make ups, clothes and other home comforts.
Being outside in nature is a great way to enjoy time with your best girl pals, especially at a hen party glamp camp! We know you’re going to have the best time and with your essentials packed, you can get ready to make memories that last a lifetime!

Bell tents sure look pretty, but do you know what they do? And would you know why you should hire one for your event?We’ve written a few reasons blog to explain why we think everyone should consider a hiring a bell tent for their special occasion.
They’re big
The first thing to note is it is super hard to give a realistic idea of the space inside a bell tent than a photograph will allow. We have bell tents in a variety of sizes, from 4 metres up to 7 meters. To give you an idea, 4-meter tents will comfortably fit 2-3 people and 7 metre tents 25-30 people. Our bell tents often surprise people when they see the amount of space inside.
We offer bell tents that sleep 1-2 people or 4-5 people comfortably with furnishings and room for your luggage. We have seen them set up with 6 single beds inside, although we prefer to make sure you have plenty of room around you to make your experience more comfortable.
They’re great for all occasions
The bell tents we hire out across Sussex, London, Essex, Kent, Surrey and Hampshire are used for a variety of different occasions.

Affordable pricing – we know how messy things can get when you pay for decorations here, food there and other bits all over the place. So, we have kept it simple and have a set price of £75 per hen for the entire weekend (minimum booking of 5 hens).

Our hugely successful and almost sell out during 2021 Hen Camp is available once again at the Hook and Hatchet Pub in Huckling, near Maidstone for 2022 bookings.
THE LOCATION
The Hook and Hatchet Pub is a unique and vibrant location with its own Hillside Campsite, with an exclusive semi private area assigned just for the Hen Camps during the summer months. You have the benefit of your own newly paved patio area, festoon lights hanging in trees and your own gated entrance to the glamp camp area.
The venue is situated within the Huckling Estate just off the Pilgrims Way, which is an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Star gazing, unlimited fresh air and nature are in a constant supply.
THE DETAILS
Upon your arrival and check in at the pub, you will be greeted with the Hen Camp fully set up for you and the tribe, ready for use. Prices are based on a tent occupancy of 5 x hens per tent. All sleeping tents are 6m in diameter and are very spacious inside, plenty of room for luggage and drinks!
Each tent is equipped with the following inside – carpets, raised single camp beds with mattress toppers, sheets, duvets, pillows, cushions, throws, side table, rug, lantern, mirror and eye masks.
Outside there is pretty bunting, welcome mat for shoes and twinkling fairy lights on each tent.
You also have access to 3 x picnic benches for your sole use during your stay, along with car parking adjacent to the camp.
Festoon lights in the trees complete the look and for the oh so important pics for the ‘gram.
THE PRICES
You have access to your Hen Camp from 12 noon on Friday until 12 noon on Sunday and prices below include hire of the bell tents for the duration and the use of the semi exclusive area of the Hillside Camping

THE AMENITIES
The on-site facilities include 2 x unisex showers and toilets which are available for use 24 hours a day. Electric hook ups next to your bell tents are also available you select the electric option when booking your camp.
The Hook and Hatchet has a large restaurant, beer garden, outside bar during the summer months and also a delicious burger shack. They are very accomdating in terms of catering so anything in particular you’d like, just ask! Previous clampers have had breakfast one of the mornings upon request and they will, where possible, give priority bookings for your stay should you wish to eat or drink in the pub.
THE RULES
The venue are very relaxed in terms of what you can and cannot do during your stay.
Previous hen camps have arranged for their own silent discos, DJs, acoustic singers, cocktail making classes and such like. The site just asks you to be aware of other campers up on the main camping area (no drum and bass at 3am!) but it is a very relaxed site with the emphasis on enjoying yourselves during your stay!
If you are bringing BBQs for cooking, please ensure these are raised off the ground to protect the ground from scolding and being damaged for future use. We ask that you dispose of all your rubbish in the numerous bins provided around your hen camp and this includes all rubbish from inside the tents too.
There is a no fire pit rule at this site.
You are free to bring your own alcohol into your hen camp.
There is a minimum requirement of 15 x hens for hen camp. You can of course have a smaller party size but the price will be for 15 should the party size be smaller than this number

Space Requirements and Garden Glamping Bell Tent Information
Two tent sizes – 4m sleeps up to 3/4 and needs a 5m space and 5m sleeps up to 5/6 and needs a 6m space
Hire is up to 3 nights
Can we ask that any access to your garden is cleared entirely and no vehicles are in the way of access so we can easily transport our stock for set up and the area of the garden you want us to set up in is also a cleared space and clean of any debris so we can get everything up for you as quickly as possible.
If at all possible, if we can park as close to your property as possible too, this is always appreciated as the equipment is heavy.
We have a few rules for our bell tents:
1. No shoes at all to be worn inside the bell tent
2. No smoking of any kind inside the bell tent – this includes vapes.
3. Camp fires / BBQ’s to be at least 3 metres from the bell tent
4. Please clear of all rubbish, food waste and clear up any spillages – if we have to clear any rubbish, confetti, balloons, food waste or anything we will have to charge for this.
5. Dogs are welcome in the bell tent but please can they not go onto the beds or bedding.
6. Please do not take any of the bell tent furniture outside the bell tent and that include the lights as moisture damages them.
UN-CANCEL THOSE CANCELLED HEN, STAG OR BIRTHDAY PARTY PLANS
So, this bloody ‘C’ word has caused a bit of a s**t storm over the last few days hasn’t it. We know that many events due to take place aboard will either be cancelled in the next 5-6 weeks or alternative plans will need to be put into place for Plan B to continue your celebrations.
PLAN B
If your Plan A celebrations have been cancelled and they can’t simply be postponed, we can offer you some help with planning a Glamping Event with your hens, stags, birthday buddies or family members to make an awesome Plan B come together.
If you have to rearrange, our packages start from £50 per person for the entire weekend and this includes hire of our fully furnished Bell Tents with boho decor, raised beds, carpets and chic accessories.
HOW CAN WE HELP
If your cancelled event was due to take place during April, May or June we can help you gather your tribe and source a venue in the right location to pitch your bell tents for the weekend for you. We’ll do all the hard work in setting them up entirely, you just have to turn up.
LET’S CHILL
To help with the the emotional and mental upheaval of changed plans during this time of uncertainty we’ll be supplying our Chill Out Bell Tent for FREE OF CHARGE and this is a great communal area to shake those cocktails, get into those downward dogs or lie on the floor with sunglasses and in your PJs.
